To answer your question, I've never had kids complain about coming to the floor, yet I have always provided some alternative seating as well.

Excited to be following you! :) I teach fourth grade as well.

Victoria
love4thgrade.blogspot.com and teachingvision.orgVictoria https://www.blogger.com/profile/07387303612306473863noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4663356997993980827.post-56676996066051811122011-08-01T18:50:48.711-07:002011-08-01T18:50:48.711-07:00When I first set up my room when I came back from ...When I first set up my room when I came back from summer, I put my desks in a U, but it was not working :( I am sad - love your room! Just a thought on your empty board, my teammates have had the kids create posters about vocabulary or something else they are learning and put them up on the board to show their learning. Most of them have done them in small groups where each group makes something different. Then they hung them for awhile on the board and when it was time for the change moved them to the hallway so they were still where kids saw them. Just a thought :) Good luck! I am going to post more pictures of my disaster later :)JulesLynaehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13513889776746319932noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4663356997993980827.post-40750436788126883382011-08-01T18:20:56.466-07:002011-08-01T18:20:56.466-07:00Not sure why? Especially on the same grade level!

I have always been intrigued by the u-shape desk arrangement. I never thought of putting a small U inside a big one... That might actually work! Thanks for the idea! :)Mrs. Mikoshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02128121209111981189noreply@blogger.com
